Japan Introducing Drone Police

Japan is introducing

 

"A drone squad, designed to locate and - if necessary - capture nuisance drones flown by members of the public"

"...the squad will patrol no-fly-zones and "will search for the operators and order them to ground the drones." If an operator fails to comply, police will scramble large drones up to 10 feet long armed with cameras and nets to take down the unwanted machines"

This is in response to a drone containing radioactive substance landing on the Japanese Prime Ministers Office in April. It will be interesting to see how other countries respond to this, and how they will enforce their own laws regarding drones.

Japan's deploying anti-drone drones?

It's only a matter of time before the anti-anti-drone-drone drones come out. Then the real fun begins.

Jokes aside, this is actually a smart idea although that scrambling thing could potentially backfire.
