Installed new ram? only 7.1 useable?

i've got 1600mhz 2x4 kingston furyx 1.5v

and

1600mhz crucial ballistix sport 1x8 1600mhz 1.5v

 

EDIT: i see one of the things loose, im gonna go fix that and c if that works

i just put the clip in and its still detecting it as 7.1

have you tried turning off the iGPU in the bios as sometimes it allocates memory for it even though it's not being used.

It probably doesn't like that they're different capacities, try updating the bios and switching around the positions if you haven't already.

what happens if you use only the 2x4 or the single 1x8?

does it show up as 8?

 

also, make sure you put them in the correct ram slots

motherboards need to be filled up in a certain order

what i've treid

 

booting up with the 2x4 works fine detects as 8

re arrenging it whtere dim slot 1 and 3 have the fury's and i put the crucial in dim 2 and dim 4 and neither work

 

RN i tried kingstons in dim 1 and 2 and crucial in dim 3 and this dosen't work either

ok well then your ram is simply not compatible

try buying another either the same as the 1x8 or the same as the 2x4

because it looks like they will not work together

youre trying to mix very different ram

maybe if you had a second of the 1x8 and filled all slots that could work, but 2x4 and 1x8 is very weird

well i think i know the problem...

so a few months back i asked what ram I should get, and i was picking ones with a voltage of 1.35v then somone said, "oh your ram RN is 1.5v so get a 1.5 one. 

So I did... 

Now I just went back to the crucial's ram at amazon and it says 1.35v...

 

That person fucked this up for me...
