Share your reason for getting an expensive GPU

Terra

i bought the 980 Ti, main logical reason was so that i can use it for quite some time and the silly reason was... i wanted to have the best GPU in the house. lol xD

Have a Quadro M5000 at the moment...because someone just left one unattended on a desk at work.

My expensive gaming cards are essentially for video rendering and driving my up to 8 monitors.

I'm getting a 980 TI for the exact same reason as you.

both my brothers bought the 970 so i was like, this is unacceptable! so i kinda spent more money the GPU considering my cpu and mobo is still good enough xD

GPU loading for video rendering... legit reason...

(same reason for going for the A8 over a similarly priced Pentium...)

Dont fall into the money trap , why do you need to waste more money to get more frames per second

I want a 290 because it's cold in here.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

Because we all have money to burn... right? :P

I got it cos I wanted it...plus its also a cooler card and had features I actually want,... and my 290x heated up my room WAY WAY too much in summer (Australia)

Now its nowhere near as bad.

FTR - I've bought 3x HD7950's, 2x 6970's, 3x 290x's and a single GTX 970 in the last two years. Now THATS Silly!

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
