Test A 980TI With A CX600

Applesean

Today I got my 980ti and want to test it to make sure it works. The build it's going in wont be done till Christmas, so I don't want to wait a month to find out I bought a dead card. all I want to do is make sure the card outputs to the display. I think it will be okay just plugin it in to a CX600 for the 2min it will take, but just want to get a second opinion.

It's fully capable of powering the 980 Ti, so you should be good.

I overclocked a 2600K to 4.8Ghz and a 290x @ 1150Mhz on a CM650w and I survived.

While not ideal for some, it's enough.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Don´t worry the PSU is more than sufficient. I had an i5 4590 and a GTX980 STRIX on a Corsair 430CX and OCed the card as far as it would go with no problems at all in 3D Mark.

So your 980TI will be just fine with 600W.

Intel i7 7820X (delidded) @ 4.9GHz - MSI X299 M7 ACK + EKWB Fullcover Block - G.Skill Trident Z 32GB @ 3466MHz - nVidia Titan Xp + EKWB Fullcover Block @ 2.1GHz - Samsung 960Pro 2x - WDD Blue 2TB - Seasonic 750W Platinum - modded Corsair 600C - Hardtubed Custom Watercooling
