1440p for gaming and general home/office stuff. 4K for (most only future-proofed) video consumption and all productive work (photo/video editing, 3D-modeling, writing and so on) But only if you have Windows 10. If you're still stuck with Win 7/8.1, don't go above 1440p. The scaling for 4K is terrible in them.

1440p, it's almost impossible to run AAA games at 60fps in 4k.

Specs matter, but me personally i have used a 4k monitor for about 5 hours (give or take) and games looks nice in them, but basically a sharper version of 1080P. Not that amazing. But the UI is tiny and very few programs scale for 4K, so you have to have your face pressed up against the screen for you to be able to read it. Plus then you need so much more horse power to drive the games at 4K, I would personally recommend a 1440p monitor at 120 hz or 144hz.

Something Awesome!

right now its horrible but i am upgrading my pc soon and i will be getting a titan x then replace it with 2 pascal gpus

Better get a 980ti. Way cheaper and similar performance. You can run 4K from that GPU
