Huge overclock on XFX Radeon™ HD 7770

LazyDev

FX-777A-ZDB4 In question.

I just got my new graphics card running, and watercooled it, but deiced "How far can thing be pushed?"

So, I google'd and found  the highest for a 7770 GPU was 1240 MHz at max and GDDR5 at 1500, maxed.

post-4113-0-56071600-1377128750.png

Yup, that is a 200MHz OC and it is totally stable. I'm very impressed with my new graphics card and I do believe AMD has underrated this GPU.

I cannot push the memory any faster, It's the cap for the slider in Afterburner.

AMD's 7000 series have been great overclockers.  I know its very common for someone with a 7950 or a 7970 to get a 200mhz or even 300mhz OC.

Well, I did have 1150/1650 on air, backed it off just to be safe. Pretty nice overclock, but it's around the ballpark for these chips.

Believe it or not, my 7770 reached 80.C with stock cooler very easliy and was unsure about a huge OC on the stock cooler. Besides, My last card was watercooled and their was a spare block in the loop.

Honest;y you could have invested in a better card and NOT liquid cool it. This is kind of pointless. Just like a GT210 4GB

Why not watercool a 7770 if your bored.

Those are some damn fast speeds, could you benchmark it in gaming and compare it to the 7850?

Not really pointless. This card has good value for money. As I said, AMD may have underrated this GPU since it has huge overclock capabilities.

Couldn't you enable extended overclocking limits within the AB options?

This is exactly like the guy who wanted to do liquid cooling loop for 400$ on FX-6300... I understand he already owns the FX-6300 but in 400$ you can upgrade the CPU+mobo to intel entry-level i7, Xeon e3-1230v3... on air and non-overclockable but still faster.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

Curious, what's your voltage and temps under normal gaming load?

80C after the OC or before?  What did your temps come down to after you water cooled it?

Yeah I would get a high end card with no WB (air cooling) than a low end card with WB.
