BTW I have no idea how this guy is getting good fps especially in neighborhoods where it would usually cause some lag spikes for me

Good FPS?!

i mean you can clearly tell the game run at like 8FPS...just by looking at the video.

Also it's probably all on lowest settings at 1280x720 or something...

you should see...much more EPIC over here ;)

Yet 20fps on that kind of a card on such a game is still decent

Dude, I wouldn't even expect it to work on this card, it's like extremely weak, might be on par with an iGPU of an APU or even worse haha, it's still a pretty damn good score ^^

It looks like that:

i know man...it's weaker than the better APU's which boast an R7 250 GPU :P

no, its equivalent to an R7 250...

the Kaveri based APUs have modified cut down Hawaii cores. Kaveri is GCN 1.1..... only other GPU that is 1.1 is Hawaii

R7 250 is VLIW5, which isnt even GCN

The new driver is good, getting 60FPS almost all the time. Low God ray and medium shadow though, not that i notice any different.

R7 250 is VLIW5, which isnt even GCN

R7-250 is the lowest end GCN, basically a rebadged HD7730.

the R7 240 that this guy is using in the video is weaker than the APU which is equivalent gpu to the R7 250.

the R7 240 that this guys is using is lower end than the APU.

yes, by a longshot

but the card itself can match the APU performance because on-board memory bandwidth far far far far exceeds that of standard DDR3 (aka 1600-2400Mhz)

most likely yes...anyways i must admit it's great that the game even work on this honestly...even though it's most likely all lowest possible settings and low resolution. still impressive.

well, this would prolly be like a scaled down PS3 in terms of GPU power :|

So the dude's specs can run fallout 4 without lag spikes just because of that even with the low fps?

I mean I have an intel pentium g3220 and r7 250x 1gb ddr5 and 4gigs of ram 1600mhz...I expect his to lag spike more

The lag spikes come from the shadows, remove the shadows and you remove the spikes

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Is that in the advanced settings in the graphics settings?  I swore that I lowered everything

It's in the advanced. The distance setting has to be at or below medium. Or use the FPS mod for low end PCs on the Nexus.

Yeah its on low and the distance is below medium....I still have no idea why the dude with the a4 apu is running fallout 4 with no lag spikes...perhaps its the game itself but who knows

Confounding variables, aren't they a bitch? Take a break and come back to it, or hop on the Nexus as there are a few mods for running issues. And "stuff"

Confounding variables?  ummm Yeah a little ignorant when it comes to huge words

Will be looking into fallout 4 performance mods...Hopefully adding more ram will do more of my computer good

RAM speed is extremely important in Fallout 4, if you can over clock yours at all do it.

Will a 1x8gb 1600mhz going with the 1x4 1600mhz ram be good?

If you have a Haswell CPU (4xxx) then give the RAM 1.6v and see it it will hold 1833 in the RAM overclocking multiplyer in your bios. Any amount of overclocking the RAM will help. Only game I have that is true for though.

I have a g3220 isn't that considered a haswell cpu?.....How about without overclocking...How will my 12gb ram with 1x4 and 1x8gb do?
