Will a Intel Pentium G3258 Bottleneck a GTX 950?

Asking because I plan to put together an HTPC system, and just want to make sure. Doesn't have to be a 950, could also be a similarly priced AMD offering.

Suggestions for alternate GPUs are also welcome, but it'll have to run on a 400W PSU.

It won't bottleneck much on games that run on 2 cores. You could probably put a 960/380 and not suffer major bottlenecking. Although I wouldn't put a 380 on a 400W PSU lol, I would use a 750 Ti/950. Maybe a 270 but nothing more on AMD.

It shouldn't bottleneck, but an i3 is a safer bet-it definitely wont.

I'm thinking 750 ti right now actually. It's cheaper nowadays (about $40 less in Canada), and has similar performance, and sips power as a bonus. Doesn't get much better than that.

I want an i3, but you know, money. I hope I can squeeze it in there, but who knows really.

Yeah, the 750 Ti is really good low power card. I have it in a system with a shady 300W PSU and I have no problems :D. Just OC a bit and you can get within spitting distance of the 950.

Just do an APU setup unless 4k

APU's don't have the performance I want, and they'd put off more heat than I can stand. Of course getting a better cooler will help, but it's a small case and I can't have that much room taken up by a cooler.

APU also have crap performance on the CPU side of things as well as weak iGPU.

Well you can run a GTX 980ti and an i5 off of 400W so no worries there. Is it some sketchy PSU? If so then I would get a decent power supply before putting some innocent graphics card in there :P

Silverstone 400W. I know the dangers of getting some sketchy PSU, and i'm not about to let it happen.

Then go underclocked 860K/950 or 285 ITX

a ) I'm probably going to just go for a 750 ti because it's cheaper with similar performance

b ) Heat is a big issue for me. The less, the better. This system is going to be mostly closed off when not gaming.

I'm very positive you'll be fine with the Pentium Anniversary Edition.

It would be nice to have an i3, but a pentium will probably work just fine for me

Meh, not really.

It'll be fine for 4K video and keep up with the 950 just fine.

Even my Core Duo T2600 is fine with 4K videos.

If he wants to keep his system cool, then he shouldn't be getting a G3258. Keeping his system cool implies that no overclocking'll take place.

No overclocking will take place, and I probably should switch out the CPU for some other, cheaper pentium anyways. I just chose the G3258 because I've heard good things about it and it's competitively priced.
