What if an energy drink dropped on you newly built C$1,200 FX-3600 and R9 380 build in a SPEC-02 with a H100I GTX at the top fan mounting place.........

Friend placed it down right above the PC..........

 

And well 2 teen boys.....

 

Shit happens....

 

 

So the guy am building this for is super nice, he understands that shit happens.

 

This 970 will get replaced, it's a relative light C$130.....

 

 

Thank god the R9 still works.....

Check their website for warranty info but odds are slim you are covered, very slim.

Your friend should be coughing up the cost of what needs replacing,

Although no damage, the massacre is beyond disgusting

 

I'm not opening my rig again anytime soon

And it got into the PCI.... The R9 380 is okay thank god..... Tested it in a old dell inspiron.....

My 2 would do something like that because they are always fighting. Of course they also woulda knocked over the case and mashed it ! Clean off the drink and send it back, it's not like it works now, what you got to lose (unless it was powered off at the time, then you might be able to just clean it).

Might not be worth the risk of damaging other parts then, that sucks. I split beer on mine (never drink and game), got lucky and nothing got hit. So I understand the shit happens bit.

If it wasn't turned on, maybe you can revive it by rinsing off the motherboard with the highest isopropyl alcohol concentration you can get.

When I was younger and at a lan, my friend spilled a 600ml bottle of juice onto my PC.. 

 

Actually the same guy did it two my PC twice in different occasions. Needless to say that PC got a speed boost from the colony of Ants the moved in :(
