Do i need thermal compound

Go to solution Solved by Enderman,

On a 5820k ? Oc, if i get mx4 isit worth it?

mx4 would be better, yes

but only by a few degrees

if you think thats worth it, then buy some, otherwise just use the stuff that came with the s36

Other than 1 2 degrees celsius, will it aid in longavity and other stuff too?

On liquid cooler s36 kelvin

Which one should i get?

“It would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.”

You need thermal paste for pretty much every CPU and cooler to my knowledge unless you want a seriously toasty and eventually damaged processor. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

nope, you're completely & 100% correct.

Pro Tip: don't use flash when taking pictures of your build; use a longer exposure instead. Prop up your camera with something (preferably a tripod) if necessary.

if you use retarded/autistic/etc to mean stupid please gtfo

Well yes, because without it you will fry your CPU

The Kelvin S36 already comes with a small tube, so if youre asking if you have to buy better compound then no, that one will work just fine

The Kelvin comes with a small tube of thermal paste and you must apply it.

There's a lot of options from expensive to dirt cheap. Generally Arctic Cooling MX4 is a good choice for it's non-conductive properties and excellent performance. It's also usually cheap. On the high end of the spectrum is paste like IC Diamond which performs really well but is quite expensive. GELID makes some good paste too, and Arctic Cooling's other offerings like MX2 are decent as well.

There's a ton of options out there, and you generally can't go wrong. Most quality pastes perform very similarly to each other. Just avoid the cheap chinese stuff on eBay.

What makes small tube different

What makes small tube different

just the materials they are made from

thats why different thermal pastes perform differently

the one it comes with is good enough
