I found when I brought my computer to class I would just screw around on the internet instead of paying attention, so I only brought it to a few classes, mostly just took notes in a notebook.

XPS13 to university + my PC at home

I wanted to get the blade pro 2016, but I needed a laptop and couldnt wait til march so I just bought a cheaper XPS

 

the size is really nice, and the battery is amazing even when constantly watching videos or web browsing for hours

I had an Acer ultrabooky thing that had a 740m le which was fine for very light gaming.

Gaming desktop. I don't even currently own a laptop. I take all notes by hand, otherwise I just absentmindedly type and don't retain any knowledge.

I use my laptop, a Samsung Chronos 7 mainly for work and CAD/Solidworks stuff when I'm out and about, my desktop at home for gaming and everything else in between.

I didn't get a laptop until my 4th year. 

And I picked performance 14" laptop. Not super heavy gaming laptop, but it's very usable for doing (graphics) programming.
