3.5mm cable works on PC but not on phone

i bought a 3.5mm headphone extension cable (female to male) its about 1m. If i use it on my PC headphones it works fine. but when in my phone it glitches/lags out and the volume plays out of the speaker instead of the headphones for about 1.2 seconds then pauses. It randomly changes volumes and does weird things all around.

 

What could possibly be the problem???

jep, I know that from experience, sometimes it doesnt work and you immediately think that its not deeply enough in there ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)

cable is 4 pole, desktop connection is a 3

4 pole extensions are hit-or-miss usually.

Probably what Gala said. I know with my iPod touch, some headphones don't properly work on it.

Like if half of the song was missing, or it was played in some very long corridor?

make sure its plugged in all the way and that the case isnt interfering

There is a workaround tho, solder a 3 pole on it.
