You have to ask me questions. You can't ask everyone why they bought the product. So no, without asking they can not determine the reason someone bought the product. So I call bull on those hundreds or thousands of dissertations. 

You're not listening, it's all about intent and has nothing to do with you. I have an iphone, I got it because it fit my requirements and I had gone through 3 android phones and a windows phone in a year. You may have done the same. If I bought it so as to impress my friends, in group/out group. And that goes for all ages and subjects.

 

Start with group think and work your way up to this.

Product purchase does not equal brand purchase. If you buy something because of the brand, you're paying to join a group. Literally thousands of dissertations on this.

Are you saying that "most" people who buy Apple are buying it for the brand or are you just stating that if you buy anything for the brand you want to join that group?

What population? That will change the percentage. I'm saying you can't judge a person by their purchase without knowing the motivation behind it.

Apple products are admittedly great performers when it comes to mobile devices (just check out the video Austin Evans uploaded), but are horribly overpriced and become outdated, practically useless once a new iOS version is released. Take a Imacs for example, they cost so much and compare the performance to a similarly priced PC (PC MASTER RACE!) and it falls behind massively. Yes there is the argument of "well it's an all in one and the look might appeal to people" but wow some of the PC builds I've seen are just stunning. Yes I know it's off-topic but look at everyone else's comments.

Some people here rip on CX power supplies. Why? Not because they're inherently educated, but because other people say they suck. They don't necessarily see the units' performance on their own. I'm one of those who thinks the old CX units are crap. I've got one of the new CX850M and I was quite pleased when I saw the Japanese capacitors in it. My only problem with the newer ones is that in Australia they are a bit too expensive when compared to better PSU, and my CX850M coil whines like a bitch if its not under a light of full load (I think the coil whine goes out of hearing at high loads)
