Gonna buy new motherboard, which one is recommended? ASUS?

Hello. I'm planning to buy a new motherboard, and i need UR help to buy one. Cuz im a real noob when it comes to motherboards (YES iknow motherboards have nothing to do with fps or better performance ingame) but the thing is, my pc wont start, so i think its either my psu or motherboard wich is smashed (i think its psu did some testing) and so, which motherboard do u guys prefer? I'm hoping a motherboard from asus, cuz they seem to never let anyone down. But, there are so many fuckin different kinds from asus that i dont know wtf to buy, its like hero , rampage , z97 and so forth..........  ( 200 - 300 dollar range, maby even more if its worth it )

My pc specs currently:

MSI Nvidia GTX 980

ASrock h87m pro4 motherboard (its shit)

intel i5 4670k

sharkoon wpm 600 bronze powersupply (THIS ONE IS DESTROYED, I HAVE ORDERED: CORSAIR HX 750i PLATINUM)

ssd samsung 256 gig

1 tb harddrive (dunno rpm)

5 fans i think (im at work atm)

16 gig RAM

Also , if you know bout a better motherboard from MSI, i might consider buying it too.

1150 socket PLZ TY LÅL :P  :D

any board will technically do, but something like the ASUS ___-A series boards are good, inexpensive general purpose boards. I'd look for ones (from ASUS anyway) with letter based names, as those that aren't are usually from a higher tier with more feature's than many people will utilise.

Aftermarket 980Ti >= Fury X >= Reference 980Ti > Fury > 980 > 390X > 390 >= 970 380X > 380 >= 960 > 950 >= 370 > 750Ti = 360

"The Orange Box" || CPU: i5 4690k || RAM: Kingston Hyper X Fury 16GB || Case: Aerocool DS200 (Orange) || Cooler: Cryorig R1 Ultimate || Storage: Kingston SSDNow V300 240GB + WD Black 1TB || PSU: Corsair RM750 || Mobo: ASUS Z97-A || GPU: EVGA GTX 970 FTW+

"Unnamed Form Factor Switch" || CPU: i7 6700K || RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB || Case: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv Mini ITX (White) || Cooler: Cryorig R1 Ultimate (Green Cover) || Storage: Samsung 850 Evo 1TB || PSU: XFX XTR 550W || Mobo: ASUS Z170I Pro Gaming || GPU: EVGA GTX 970 FTW+

Is it a Micro-ATX case? oh and is there a colour preference? (btw there is literally 1 micro-ATX board in that price range, all except 1 other is below)

Check out the following to see what best suits you -

http://www.asus.com/Microsite/mb/9series/

Just check your ram is suited to the mobo - should be fine but I've never built one - so check the website to be sure.

I would just get the Asus Maximus VII Hero.

Good features

Not to pricey

Good OC potential

Good audio and lan

If you want a more cut down version (less quality components but same features) than go with the Asus Maximus VII Ranger.
