My first of build tips pkease

xven

I have a 3500-5000$ budget PC and i am looking to build a solid gaming PC for the next 3years. I am looking online for parts and i was wondering if you guy's who are way more educated in this domain would like to help me out.

This is what i have in mind so far,

Corsair 750d Airflow edition for my case

Evga 980ti hybrid for gpu

Skylake i5 6600 to overclock

750-850w power supply

16g ddr4 ram 2666 or +

A Samsung ssd card 1-2tb pro edition

I need help to choose fans, CPU cooling and any other suggestions would really be appreciated. This is my first build so i will avoid custom water cooling lol.

Also would like to get help choosing a monitor, the price doesn't matter much, i am just looking for the ultimate gaming experience without sacrificing fps and looking for 120-144 monitor.

Thank you.

What kind of gaming are you planning to do? and at what resolution? as for your cpu cooler, id say go with the Corsair h100i, it cant be beat really, and depending on if you need more fans than the case provides, noctua is the highest praised fan maker, or if you want you could go corsair again for fans, really nice quality. so after i know what kind of games your running and at what res. then ill try and be more help :P

my first build ^~^ cpu: core i5 6500

mobo: Asrock h110-itx

gpu: r9 380

8 gigs ddr4

psu: corsair cx 500

case:thermaltake core v1

ok, if you want a good gamer, you DO NOT need 5000 dollars.

a 6600k and a 980ti with 16GB DDR4 can be done for 1500-2000 and will max out any game, you dont need 5000 unless you want to add a 4k monitor

EDIT: i meant 6700k

This, you are soending money on stupid stuff. Save $700 and go for some 980Tis. Save $10 and get a 1TB SSD

Save another $700, a 5820k is more then enough for everyday task and is overkill for gaming. Save MORE money by getting 16GBs of ram, you can ALWAYS add more later and for a gamer and even for some ram intensive things 16 is enough, the Black Series are also overpriced. The thermal compound on the x61 is just as good as AS5, Corsair fans are junk compared To what you can get for the same anount of money.

read my last post, i said that the build you quoted is what he can do, but he shouldnt do that. a 6700k, single 980ti and 16gb ddr4 will max out any game

ok, not my point

my point is that, rather than go for Haswell-E and spend 3k, a 2000 build with skylake and a single GPU can max all games at 1080 and even 1440p

want eye candy? ok, add another 980ti and make it 2600, but stick with skylake on this one

Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

Solitaire.

i know... thats what i did here:  http://pcpartpicker.com/p/G82gMp

i would go with skylake over the 5930k though

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/YsNXwP

5930k is waste of money compared to 5820k

What kind of gaming are you planning to do? and at what resolution? as for your cpu cooler, id say go with the Corsair h100i, it cant be beat really, and depending on if you need more fans than the case provides, noctua is the highest praised fan maker, or if you want you could go corsair again for fans, really nice quality. so after i know what kind of games your running and at what res. then ill try and be more help :P

1080 or plus, I will be playing stuff like battlefield 4, league of legends, starcraft 2,csgo,minecraft,.... I am afraid that a 4k monitor will get my fps very low since i don't want to sli.

ok.

#1 you DO NOT need 5000 dollars for 1080p for those games

#2 even with the 2000 build i did, 4k wil not lag on those games

#3 why dont you want to SLI?

Why no SLI.

Nothing ks wrong with it, if you look at the few builds I posted they are good.

Also a 5820k is better then a 6700k

RAID dem PCI-E drives. Also, I don't know much about monitors.

FYI X99 > Skylake

I want to use the 6th gen platform since in 2-3years if i chose to upgrade my PC i won't have to change ram and motherboard.
