Actually yes, it is 100% obsolete, as is DVI. Displayport is superior. Clinging to old standards slows innovation, stop doing it.

DVI isn't obsolete, what are you talking about?

Yep, Displayport. Higher res capability, higher refresh rate capability, can carry audio, more compact (especially mini DP), thinner, etc.

I know quite well the existence/benefits of displayport.

But, DVI isn't obsolete, it's not even being phased out yet. Of course there are better options out there, but DVI is not obsolete (yet),

CDs are still a requirement for audiophiles. It's almost the only way to get native WAV files. (This doesn't include FLAC)

mmmmm not really. They are obsolete by definition, or deprecated, if you will. Just because people still use them doesn't mean they're not obsolete.

I will admit to it being obsolete but that in no ways means its dead by anymeans. Other wise I could says the same about USB 2.0 and 1.1.

sadly CDs are not obsolete because there is no readily available replacement to get that quality of content or better easily and legally.
