Silicon Motion introduces new SM2246EN SATA SSD controller, promises lower power for mobile devices

An SSD uses, what, 1w? 2w? How much more power efficient can they get? Crazy. It is awesome, but I question how much more power efficient they can get.

Wow, I know a lot of people care when it comes to low power components but wow, this is taking it a little extreme.

According to Newegg, Crucial's M4 series use 0.15 watts while active and use less than 85 milliwatts while idling.. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148442

As long as it doesn't sacrifice performance I see nothing wrong with this... Still, I think focusing on battery technology would be more useful in the long run.
