Idk if I'm the only one like this but I'm really picky about Trees in game I think they all look too sharp and ugly.

What game has the best trees in you're opinion? I think Trees are important and if you make them look like crap its just sad.

My favorite Trees are Ark Survival:Evolved

They're okay as long as it's not taxing so much on my GPU. I'd prefer the game mechanics than anything else though.

I hate the physics of trees in most games. For those little shit trees that are unstoppable: Why the hell is is 2015 and we still cant plow down a tiny ass tree with a million dollar sports car going 200mph?

I had such a hard time playing Just Cause 1 for that reason. Those friggin trees you crash into with a heli and the trees would still stand.

 

 

Ark Trees are pretty nice.

yep ARK is epic only if it was optimized and the damn reflections were turned down a bit.

I prefer the ones in battlefield bad company 2, that you can knock down with the .50 caliber sniper rifle.

 

Always funny to see another sniper run because I ruined his cover.

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Dubs are better than subs

We are nowhere near to hyper realistic trees, normal maps and shaders help but we are still using simple shapes with high res texture nothing more , even though modern GPUs are powerful and are able to work with really high numbers of polys, drawing lots of realistic trees made by 3d models even with batching would kill the game.

Yeah, but the leaves are the ones that always look the worst.

Usually they are just quads with high res textures, nothing more, the depth is given by normal maps not by the model. It would be a waste of resources, unless you have only one tree modelling the leaves in 3D would kill the GPU. They can do it in animated movies but only because they are pre-rendered.
