980ti vs Fury X with the async-compute controversy

SuperCactus

Has anyone returned their 980 ti due to this controversy?

Is anyone upset by the DX12 situation?

Is anyone considering buying a Fury X right now, because of it?

What are your predictions?

Well - 980 Ti has 31 compute lanes + 1 graphics lane that cannot operate alongside each other so it's either 31 compute or 1 grahpics at the same time.
Fury X has 64 compute + 1 graphics which can run simultaneously. Once DX12 becomes a thing - 980 Ti will take a hit

If an argument breaks out with someone pulling some facts out of their ass again, they should be banned from the forum imo.

Yeah, I am terribly mad about 2 benchmark of 1 game and immediately returned my 650 dollar investment.

I think too many people are jumping to conclusions.. And I'm no Nvidia fanboy (or AMD fanboy). I think we should wait until we have some more benchmarks (it's like basing your opinion of Nvidia and AMD on the initial GTA V or Witcher 3 benchmarks)

Its still unclear how dx12 will affect things and frankly this topic is a toxic one so I'm going to stay out of it until something concrete comes out when games are fully released

EXACTLY and especially witcher 3 seeing as it has nvidia code in it so it will obviously be nvidia sided in benchmarks I personally would love to see neutral benchmarks on games that aernt vendor sided at all that aernt optimized for one specific gpu feature set so that the playground is dead even

1) you cant get a refund on a graphics card because future updates to dx12 may not give as good of performance as a competitor.. all shops would just laugh at you

2) its not exactly a controversy.. people who bought a 980ti knew what they were buying at the time of purchase..

3) again its not a controversy because its showed up in 2 benchmarks.. 2... i could throw a good 100 benchmarks at you showing the 980ti beating the fury x..

4) theres like 3 games with implemented dx12.. all of these games the 980ti smashes through frames even at 4k.. its not like its going to undo and perform worse..

Gaming PC: • AMD Ryzen 7 3900x • 16gb Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200mhz • Founders Edition 2080ti • 2x Crucial 1tb nvme ssd • NZXT H1• Logitech G915TKL • Logitech G Pro • Asus ROG XG32VQ • SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless
