Why did you give them that? Could you not have waited until they delivered it and activated it yourself?

Yeah you will, unless its not talking to the activation servers, which in that case you are fine.

if your key is activated when you acitvate on the new machine you will have to ring microsoft and give them your 20 plus didgit code it gives you then they will give you a new code for the box !

Just install the on your other PC. It will deactivate on your mac

no need to call MS if this dosen't work ^

if it dosen't then jsut call them like

you: AY YO DWAG I GOT A NEW mobo/CPU gimme le new code.

MS: aight dawg give us yo old one so we can confirm u bought it dawg

So does that mean once it's activated on a new machine, the one on the old machine will deactivate by itself and be unable to use?

not straight away because of the way that MS keys work. its a anti piracy feature. they never just 'deactivate and activate'

but not completely ? i am completely sure and this is MAC to PC. its not the same due to the motherboard and the way it keeps the key in memory.

its the same process. It being a MAC has no impact. its basically MOBO/CPU going into a new MOBO/cpu in general it should work

if it dosen't work no biggie just call MS

wow you dont get it... you can buy OEM or Retail. Home premium is allmost allways sold as a OEM as its used on Bespoke PC.

at the end of the day. if its OEM (most likely) hes going to need to phone acitvate, where as Retail may require phone buy sometimes does not
