R9 Fury X VS G1 Gaming GTX 980 Ti

I checked a lot of comments on FuryX and 980ti, I discovered that if you only use just one card ,then 980ti seems better...although if you plan to upgrade your gigs someday to two cards sli/cf ,2 furyx CF's performance seems better. For me, I prefer furyx because for some reason I don't quiet understand, AMD cards color( graphics on screen) seems more vibrant. I'm not 100% sure, just in my experience. And I don't really care about DX12 or something. FuryX and 980ti, except 2GB VRAM difference, their performance basically the same.

I am wondering what is the best performing cards of those cards listed in the title. 

Games I will be playing whilst streaming are:Cs go,Lol,Gta v, Far cry 4, Skyrim and many other games I can't remember.

I really don't know what else to say except thank you in advance!

The 980Ti is the more powerful card I believe, but I'd probably go for the Fury X if I had to choose between the two because I cannot stand the G1 aftermarket cooler. I think it looks ugly. :P

Yeah, more than likely. You can OC the 980Tis quite well and the extra VRAM will come in handy with games such as GTA and Skyrim (assuming you mod it).

 

You can't really go wrong with either.

If you want the game stream and power consumption of the GTX 970 get that. If you want raw performance of the R9 390 get that. I wanna say the Fury X scales better in CF than the 980Ti in SLI, but you'd have to double check that. I forget where I heard/saw it, but I'm almost positive I did somewhere.

 

I think the two cards trade blows if ran in CF/SLI though. But again, you'd have to double check since I really haven't seen to much about that around so I'm not exactly the greatest person to ask.

I did some research before I came here and they traded blows every game but I needed more info than that if you know what mean.

Alright lets take this one step at a time.

 

What's your monitor resolution and target framerate? Do you want to use Gsync/Freesync/Adaptive sync?

 

What processor are you using? Is there a space constraint in your case where you would benefit from the smaller Fury X? Do you have a mounting spot for the Fury X's radiator?

 

Do you want an easy to use gameplay recording solution?

I will be playing at 1440p and I do not know the exact framerates I want but I want it to be as smooth as possible. I wasn't planning on using gsync or anything like that.

I will be using the I7 5930K. I am using the Corsair Graphite 780T so I wouldn't benefit with the smaller fury x. I have mounting spots if I go with the fury x.

The last question you asked would be a very nice feature to have if it doesn't impact the performance of the game.

The 8gb is sorta stupid as a card like that will not have enough power to run a game that is utilizing 8gb of Video memory. Thus a GTX980ti has 2gb more then the Fury X and performs better in most games.

The 8gb is sorta stupid as a card like that will not have enough power to run a game that is utilizing 8gb of Video memory. Thus a GTX980ti has 2gb more then the Fury X and performs better in most games.

If you put them in CF, would that help it a little bit?

CF does not double the effective VRAM. Its a bad idea to go SLI/CF right off the bat.

 

You won't need it anyway, with the tier of card you're buying.

Get FuryX if you on a budget it comes with Water loop preinstalled and more prepared for DX12

 

980Ti is a beast as well but its on air cooled. And i can't say same about DX12

I will be playing at 1440p and I do not know the exact framerates I want but I want it to be as smooth as possible. I wasn't planning on using gsync or anything like that.

Now it's your choice. Nvidia has better recording with shadow play but you can download xsplit at any time and it performs well if you have a good processor like you.

If you are AbLe to use directX12 go for the amd cards in CF because the ram I think stacks and it better optimised for AMD cards at the time.

Get a custom 980Ti. There is no better Card atm.

I checked a lot of comments on FuryX and 980ti, I discovered that if you only use just one card ,then 980ti seems better...although if you plan to upgrade your gigs someday to two cards sli/cf ,2 furyx CF's performance seems better. For me, I prefer furyx because for some reason I don't quiet understand, AMD cards color( graphics on screen) seems more vibrant. I'm not 100% sure, just in my experience. And I don't really care about DX12 or something. FuryX and 980ti, except 2GB VRAM difference, their performance basically the same.
