If 60Hz is enough for your, go for IPS, damn that picture :3

If you want smoother experience, go with 144Hz, just make sure your GPU can keep up.

If I may ask, why not the Acer 144Hz IPS monitor?

I was getting progressively weirded out reading this thread until I saw this post, thinking, "was I imagining that monitor..? Or maybe this is an old thread necro'd?".

Thankfully IPS and 120/144 Hz are no longer mutually exclusive options :D

Thats why I wanna ask the thread starter why he or she didn't consider the Acer 144hz IPS monitor. It has the best of both, though the response time could be questionable... but still, 144hz IPS goodies.

Random person here...

I did look, mainly didn't get too much into that monitor due to a lot of issues (light bleed, etc.) and cost being so high...

Ah indeed! I read the same reviews, and it sure looks awful from a QA point of view. I heard they even stopped doing replacements and swapped to just refunds because their second batch was just as bad.

That said, if I wanted a really nice 1440p, I'd probably order it anyway but make sure it'd be from Amazon, since their returns and replacement scheme is so customer-oriented. But I can totally understand just not wanting to have to deal with the potential faff of repeated deliveries and collections just to get a working screen without ott faults.

@Theo are you able to increase the refresh rate or is it just at 60hz?

its currently connected to the mobo cause no dedicated gpu so i cant check i think.

EDIT: figured out how to do it, got it running at 70hz atm

EDIT2: running at 75hz

EDIT3: not running at 80hz so 75hz i guess

On desktop not too much and i cant play a game cause Igpu.

Im guessing it would be smoother if its stable ( if monitor doesnt skip frames and all but i cant test that)
