Looking to buy a new headset

pepsimaxl

is this about them being made in singapore or china rather than austria?

meh I open up my computer case and I don't think I can point to a single thing that isnt made in china.

I believe it is headfi over reacting to things. I think I remember some of the more level headed people who own them that haven't noticed any drop in quality.

still. akg is a waaaay better solution than a steelseries or a razer product.

Has nothing to do with where they are built, I couldn't care less. The problem I have is that they do not make the same level of products they used too. I love AKG sound, while a bit treble heavy, its great for rock. My problem is that every headphone falls apart in a month or so.

Ouch

Kinda, I really like how they sound, but the build isn't what it used to be.

And to think I was just considering buying a K 701 - why do you torment me so?

K/Q701's are treble happy, 10/10 would only run off a tube amp.

Hardcore, I run an 45-50 year old variable voltage/gain amp, puts the warmth of tubes to shame.

I am assuming you're into Fps games which I would then recommend the Audio technica AD700 + this clip on mic or a modmic if you're willing to spend that much more.

The ad700 constantly gets the reccomendation for ~$100 positional audio headphones.

Either than that I would suggest sennheiser HD 558 since I personally own them and work very well for both gaming and music

Across the vast and majestic gulf of time and space, the jimmies rustle softly.

for music and movies I love my dt770 however it is only rates as acceptable for gaming. I'd look at a dt880 or dt990 for gaming

Good to know, since I don't have experience with them. But the reason I would get the DT770 is because I prefer closed headphones and the DT880 and 990 are more expensive.

CPU: i5 4670K, Mobo: Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H, RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB, GPU: Asus 280X, Case: Fractal Design XLR2, SSD: 840 evo 120GB, HDD: 2x 1TB Seagate, PSU: Corsair RM750, Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo
