Does MX-4 thermal paste require burn in?

Does it or do I just suck at applying thermal paste? I remember a guy taslking about thermla paste burn in. Not sure though.

EDIT:

also my speedfan says 75°C GPU temp and my afterburner / Kombustor says 50°C

how do I check who is right?

Burn in? what? I am 99% sure that doesn't exist and will barely make a difference if it does, maybe like 1 degree or something

Use CPUID HWMONITOR and/or GPU-Z

You heat up a piece of metal at 50°C then at 75°C, you touch both of them and see how they feel.

Now touch your GPU and you should know whether it is 50°C or 75°C, simple as that.

Every normal thermal compound needs to "burn in", but it's only 1-2degrees max difference.

before 100%Fan speed and ~100% load equals ~60°C

now equals ~70°C

aio's sometimes need "burning in" for example just leave it at idle so the thermal paste hardens and gets gud on the cpu so it cools it efficently

idk but I would know if I ripped it out o ma system AGAIN and checked on it but well the old paste looked pretty shitty and bubbly so I am surprised this seems to work worse than that.

But what you see on the CPU is a heatspreader, which is in contact with the die which generates the heat. This means you don't have to cover the entire CPU heat spreader, but with the GPU you have to cover everything in an even thin layer because there's no heatspreader. What you see is the die itself!

Two crosses is usually what's used when applying thermal paste to a GPU die.

When in doubt: C4
