No graphics card power cable?

I have a bestec 300w psu. It came with my dell pc. I want to buy a gtx 960, but don't know if i have the cable for it. I looked in my case but couldn't find a cable. Help.

Invest in a decent power supply. It's the heart of your computer. You should never skimp on this.

Power supplies that came with a case are always bad. Stay away from those things.

GTX 750 (ti) or 950 when it comes out without upgrading the PSU.

He's right. If you're getting anything higher then a 60w GPU (R7 250 or GTX 750.), you NEED a better power supply.

yes, and a gtx 960 needs 160 Watts max. and your PSU is propably designed for the system so it wont have those 160 Watts available.

Seems like someone has an OEM PSU. I suggest to swap it out for something else if you're going to do any serious upgrades. But if you must, you can use adapters that uses two of the 4-pin MOLEX connectors to one 6-pin PCIe cable.

Many Dell PCs are not intended to have a dedicated graphics card at all, and if so they expect you to use a low-profile graphcis card. The power supply does not include 6 or 8 pin power connectors, and likely does not provide enough 12v amperage for your graphics card. 

 

TLDR: Buy a new power supply. EVGA 500b

He has a GTX 960, what more would he need... The XFX 550w costs more, and the Corsair 430/500w costs about the same. What would you suggest?

A 500B is fine for a 960.
