Thinking of upgrading my pc

Go to solution Solved by The_Mumbler,

Your 850w PSU is good even with 2x 980ti's and your mobo is a good motherboard. As for the SLI bridge, unless you want a different bridge for looks then your good.

Hey! So I need some advice on my newly built pc. It is complete but I want to add on to it around xmas aka black friday and cyber monday.

Current build:

Motherboard: ASUS Z97-E LGA 1150 Intel Z97

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K Devil’s Canyon Quad-Core 4.0GHz LGA 1150

GPU: EVGA GTX 980ti

RAM: 2x corsair vengeance 8gb DDR3 (16gb total)

PSU: EVGA 220-G2-0850-XR 80 PLUS GOLD 850 W

CPU Cooler: Corsair hydro series H110i GT

Storage: SSD: Samsung 850 EVO (250 GB) HDD: Western Digital Blue (1TB)

Case: Phantek Luxe

I want to add a 2nd EVGA GTX 980ti. So I have a few question.  I will be adding a asus rog swift or an acer predator XB270HU monitor for the g-sync. I plan on playing it on 1440 and run most if not all games on ultra setting for next few years. With adding 2nd gtx 980ti, should i get the evga sli brigde v2 or will the one with the motherboard be good enough?  Should I change to a better motherboard because I know mine isn't the best (specifically no wifi and no where near top of the line)? Finally with the addition of the 2nd GPU and potentially a new motherboard should I get a different PSU that has more watts than the 850w I currently have?  Please help, I'm still new at building my own pc as this is the first pc I've built.

You're current equipment will do fine with a second 980ti, PSU SLI bridge and all. No need to get anything new with it.

Your motherboard is fine, however I would definitely go wit the EVGA bridge. Not so much because it'll perform any better, but it looks much, much sexier.

Alright thanks guys.  I really appreciate it. really happy I don't need to get a new mobo or psu. helps saves money. But I will def be getting the EVGA bridge.  Def agree with you Dizmo that it looks much sexier.
