Is it safe to bend right angled sata power connectors?

Armie
Go to solution Solved by 79wjd,

It's fine, I'm doing it myself in my H440 (just make sure none of the sleeving gets torn from the cable and there is no issue).

So basically my seasonic m12iievo power supply only came with right angled power connectors. My case is the NZXT H440 and I don't have space to mount the ssd on the hardrive cages since they are taken up by the H80i and the Gigabyte GTX 970. My only choice is to mount my solid state drive on the ssd mount above the psu.

What I did was I bent the right angled sata power connectors so that they fit into the ssd. Right now, everthing works fine but my question is: Is it safe to bend the right angled sata powered cables? Will it result any long term damages?

Here are my images:

Thankyou and I appreciate your time and help.

If it doesn't fail why not?

ps:make sure it doesn't apply pressure on the ssd's sata connector so you don't break the board

You are bending the cable what doesn't seem so harming.

As of now, I wouldn't expect any damage to the cable. Try not to move it around too much though, because it could put too much stress on the cable. If you're really that concerned though, you may as well pick up a sata cable with a straight connector for a few bucks on amazon or something.

You're fine. Common thing that happens and the cables won't break unless you like rip out the pins.
