First Build, New to PC Gaming

So, I'm new to PC Gaming and I'm wondering how well my build is set up. I'm mainly worried about PSU wattage and whether or not all my current parts are compatible with one another and the mobo. Also, should I OC? Is my CPU cooler sufficient with a stock CPU and at OC levels? Any input is welcome.

Budget? Also go for it on overclocking. Looks like a nice build, but a 850 EVO is better and cheaper for the same capacity so grab that instead.

PSU is fine.

follow your topics. And change that ssd to a 850 evo for better performance at a lower price.

Looks good, but I would go with another case, maybe a Corsair Carbide? The cooler should be fine for some OC.

Also, as others have said, go with an 850EVO instead

To me that build looks really good. I'm guessing you're gonna game in 1080p? The only thing I would upgrade is the ssd and maybe the gpu if the budget exists.

And yeah the case may be good to change, cant recommend one though but I'm looking at the fractal r5 but I don't know much about cases so I'm just saying I'm interested in that case personelly.

Budget?

No specific budget, but I want to keep it between $1100-$900, just something mid-high to very-high graphics and performance.

your build is fine but idk about that case.

Solid build. Maybe look into a different case though

What case would you suggest? I chose the Rosewill Armor-EVO mainly because of style and that it came with 6 pre-installed fans.

You may like this a bit better. I'd look into the AMD r9 390. It performs better then a GTX 970 at the same price. I chose a different PSU as the one you picked the OEM was FSP which aren't great PSU makers. The one I picked was made by SuperFlower. This is one of my favorite budget PSUs.

yea well at that budget gpu is fine. nothing special but not a bad choice. Make sure you do swap ssds though. 40 bucks more expensive and its worse than the replacement.

Replace the GTX 970 with a R9 390, it's a better card and has 8Gbs of video memory instead of the 3.5GBs of GTX 970, well it has 4Gbs but the last 500 mbs runs at 1/7 of the speed of the 3.5Gbs

I mean they are close enough that it isn't much of a benefit either way, I just grab the cheapest of the two (and try to grab the msi 390 cause its beast).

Vram limitations really isn't a big deal at that speed card.

Yes it is, because in a year or so games are going to be passing 3.5 GBs of vram in 1080p for sure, it's only an extra $30

I'll look into it. What are the main differences between the MSI mobo and the Gigabyte? How much more performance is there in the R9 390 compared to the GTX 970?

I just changed it to make everything match. Also MSI offers some nice features like afterburner. You could get the MSI Gaming 5 which has a little more to offer

The main function of the case I selected is the large amount of airflow. Is there maybe a more reputable one that has great airflow?

peeps really don't understand how compression in vram buffer works, but it's ok. I don't disagree that it's another good option, I just would with this kind of budget put the two out there and let the buyer decide. The two are very much on par.
