An R9 270 would do a lot better, but it's like $20-$40 more than the 750ti

yes poorly, if at all. Probably can change the core clock a little bit, but you wont get much access to anything else. Stock for Stock the G3258 loses to Athlon. Get the G3258 up to 4.5 to 4,8GHz and its another story

I already did

Also, that 7850k build will be able to get 30FPS @ 1080p in most modern games if it was made correctly. But it isnt.... ive built a couple of 7850k builds myself. They are fantastic for low end systems. Have to set settings to low in games like GTA 5 and BF4 though. Its a cool little thing. a CPU with a beastly onboard GPU. However APU is a 330 USD budget solution, you got 400 USD, thus Athlon + 270X is better

if i were to stick with a 270X, i cannot get it below 450 USD before rebates.

with 270 (little better then 750Ti) - i can get it down to 430 USD befort rebates.

With a 265 (hardly better then 750Ti) i can get below 400 USD without rebates.... But with 265, you might aswell get a 750TI and OC the snot out of it instead.
