Intel Delays 10nm, Breaks Tick-Tock

Intel has ended it's Tick-Tock update cylce, but not necessarily forever. Problems with creating the 10nm node caused Intel to delay it from 2016 to 2017. Instead they're updating making a 3rd generation of the 14nm node.

 

Transitioning to 10nm isn't expected to be any better, so Intel is extending the timelines. Cannonlake is being pushed back, from 2016 to the second half of 2017, and in the interim, a third "lake" generation processor will be released in 2016. Like Skylake, this processor will continue to use the 14nm process.

I had a clock in my room for a long time.

 

The tick helped me sleep.

 

But the old big grandfather clocks, they do go tick tock. My baba has one. it most definitely goes tick tock.

For those wondering the problem is not that they can't make 10nm chips the problems is that anything 10nm and smaller will have MASSIVE quantum tunneling problems which leads to mass data corruption.

My grandfather has a really nice one like that. I really enjoy hearing it ring. Nice, deep, soothing sound.
