PSU ranking and tiers

One of these days I will add tiers to my PSU whitelist with a casual note on the side of the particular PSU ranking the tier. That's so time consuming though which is why I haven't done it.

That would be a handy feature, something like "thread moderators" where the creator of a large thread can set other people to edit it.

Where do you think these CXM units should go? Tier 2? or 1 or 3?

Alternatively I could retoast the PSU Ranking as it is, update it with new PSUs, and manage it myself. But it's still time consuming

I won't feel bad recommending CX430s to people on a tight budget now.

Well that's only if they're building new systems which are power efficient. If someone can get a used GTX 580 for 100 dollars or something then still avoid suggested CX PSUs as they're not supposed to be paired with high heat GPUs.

I had an R7 240 and a Pentium, the 430 worked fine but only because the components didn't produce much heat.

The list could always use expanding considering how many PSU makers there are, but the most important update is Tier 3 - New CXM units (rated for 40C temp)

 

Also the EVGA T2s and a lot of fanless PSUs that aren't there (no X-Series Fanless, no Nightjar)

 

And the XFX XT series which aren't stellar

I'm suffering carpal tunnel right now so i'm trying to avoid typing as much as possible but I'll help you out when I get the opportunity. I may start work soon so hopefully this thing fixes itself over the weekend

been trying to touchscreen instead of keyboard and mouse as much as possible. It's definitely getting better but it is an RSI so yeah, gotta rest it. Maybe we can get a skype going?

CX green should not be loaded with more than 45% of the total available preferably. Regard the CX430 as a 200W PSU, the CX500 as a 230W PSU, the CX600 as a 280W PSU, the CX750 as a 350W PSU, the CX850 as a 400W PSU.
