It's sad now though cuz the new CX series is actually slightly better than a Seasonic M12

Price? G-series are fairly high end - it's either not as cheap as before or there's something fishy.

Here in Ausstralia, they are cheaper than the Seasonic equivalent, and if they are of slightly better quality than 1 of their PSU, I don't feel so safe getting one after my original CX850M went up in flames despite only having a sub 500W load.

I've tried to get mods to let him edit my threads but I can't do that sadly. I'd assume I can't take control of his thread then still.

The RM is a great PSU, just poor value. Had some Chinese caps awhile ago that were "eh" then they got better as time went on.

There's a billion and this thread has already been used in LTT videos so we should just keep it as such. Also, the forums "last seen online" thing is kinda borked so I'm sure he still lingers around here every once in a while.

I guess saying that it is between the G Series and the S/M12II-B is a bit of a broad statement (old, but good budget unit vs a solid upper-mid range product). I may as well have said "it's between the entry level VS and high-end RMi". lol

 

The new CXM 550-650 are essentially a cost down RM 450-650 (which can explain why the German Edition, Vengeance, had achieve silver despite being bronze rated), so it certainly not on the level of the G-series and while on an electrical standpoint, the new CXM are better than the lower wattage GB-based S/M12II-B. The AT/AM based S/M12II-B to be better in respect to quality though as it guarantee to have full Japanese caps and a 2BB fan.

I take it high-quality PSU manufacturers cover any damage your power supply would deal in case it malfunctioned? Of course it's not usual but what if it still happened?

Not always. EVGA is great about that sort of thing but not every brand will work that way. Let's bring in @Corsair Josephto see if Corsair would, perhaps?

Thanks but I can't get an EVGA PSU in India (except for special imports)

Here we have a choice b/w (most) PSUs from Corsair, Cooler master ,(some from) seasonic ,antec and local players like zebronics,circle tech and xpro ( I agree all of which should be avoided ) to get  a sense of what's available look here :https://www.theitdepot.com/products-PSU+(+Power+Supply+Units)_C14.html

 

FYI : looking for 700-750w(modular is a bonus I don't mind if its not)
