what GPU doesnt suffer from chronic GPU sag? i just noticed today that my 970 g1 gaming has a sag on it, and when i just planned to SLI it in the coming month or so. now it will look like shit. what good GPU out there doesnt suffer from this? and i dont mean those built for ITX systems, but actual full sized builds. 

Space Journal #1: So Apparently i  was dropped on the moon like i'm a mars rover, in a matter of hours i have found the transformers on the dark side of the moon. Turns out its not that dark since dem robots are filled with lights, i waved hi to the Russians on the space station, turns out all those stories about space finding humans instead of the other way around is true(soviet Russia joke). They threw me some Heineken beer and I've been sitting staring at the people of this forum and earth since.

i always found my 680s were fine

My 970 Windforce 3X has the same problem. Definitely investing in a backplate and going to build a bracket at work.

The Rainbow X58: i7 975 Extreme Edition @4.2GHz, Asus Sabertooth X58, 6x2GB Mushkin Redline DDR3-1600 @2000MHz, SP 256GB Gen3 M.2 w/ Sabrent M.2 to PCI-E, Inno3D GTX 580 x2 SLI w/ Heatkiller waterblocks, Custom loop in NZXT Phantom White, Corsair XR7 360 rad hanging off the rear end, 360 slim rad up top. The only ones that don't suffer are the ITX ones.

RLY? I don't notice sag on my reference card and I don't have a backplate either

It might just be absolutely minimal. Reference cards aren't THAT heavy when compared to say...Lightning?

Well, my 970 suffers from 3 and a half syndrome as I'm sure you could tell this rare issue occurs only in 970 GPU's made in 2014

what is that? i bought mine 2 months after the release of the gigabyte (2 weeks before the gaming bundle for the damn cards -_- srsly nVidia release the game bundle as soon as the cards you ass holes)

you seriously don't remember this?

 

the 3.5/.5GB issue?

when you worded it like "3 and a half syndrome" instead of 3.5 gate and it only occurring on the 2014 cards it threw me off. but yea i remember that and i feel like i need to SLI my card in order for it to run games at max right now, and so it can run for another generation or two before i upgrade to what AMD will be offering at that time. (unless they go out of business)

Well I'll design a bracket at work and see how that works. Sometimes it pays to work in an aluminum fabrication shop.

sometimes it does, too bad your half way up north i would definitely order some stuff from you.

ASUS used to make those custom designed cards on their Direct CU series cards, which had extra reinforcements for sag prevention (I had GTX 680 DC2 version in SLi).

 

I have no idea if they still make any for the current gen, but you should check ASUS out if they have any current gen GPU with such models.

pretty sure the Fury Nano wont sag, nor the Fury or Fury X... just saying

My 295x2 is only 5ish months old, and so far, it hasnt started sagging, then again that GPU is made incredibly sturdy with full aluminium shroud AND a thick backplate...
