Hi I am going to build a gaming / light capture and rendering pc. here are my specs so please help with anything if need be.

 

 

CPU : Intel i5 4690k quad core @ 3.5GHZ stock

CPU Cooler : Cooler Master Nepton 120XL Water Cooler

Mother Board : Asus Maximus VII Gene MATX

RAM : Corsair vengance lp 16Gb 1866Mhz

Case : Corsair Obsidian 350D Matx

PSU : Corsair 650w RM650 Gold 80 Plus

SSD : 240Gb SSD Kingston V300

Moniter : 1080p 76hrz

GPU : Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 Gigabyte G1 Gaming Edition

Will document the build maybe with a video rendered on it at the end.

I5 and a 980ti.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

So skip the 980TI. That CPU is only capable of driving a 750TI, 960 at best.

Is it worth a 980 ti dor a 60hrz refresh rate moniter?

You are going to need an i5 4460 minimum for a 980ti

 

I'd actually advise an overclocked 4690K minimum.

Get an i7 and cheaper GPU maybe a 390/980?(Probably a 390 for cheaper and sufficient 1080p gaming but 980 would be slightly better rendering) You don't need a flagship end GPU for rendering it's mainly CPU and if you're not playing 4K then the 980Ti is a waste.

Otherwise get a FX 8320 with any of the GPUs above and a good AIO watercooler for good overclocking if you can't afford a i7 because I woudn't use a i5 for more heavy CPU workload but if gaming is just you're main priority then just get a i5.

No one needs to get an i7 for gaming, it's useless. You should always spend more money on the GPU than the CPU. If you want a cheap AMD build, which I don't recommend. I suggest an FX 8320, a hyper 212 evo and a GTX 970.

What 980 card should i get, since i was originally going with a 980 ti but since i am mostly going to be in 1080p i will save some money but i still want a good card. can you recommend any design
