That sounds higher than it should be. What sort of airflow situation are you in?

Have you tried repasting the cooler?

FT05 has the best tested aiflow temps on the market.

I mean, it isnt the stock thermal compound.

Im doing p95 now, ill see what load is

It's too much. Test it on load, it's probably going to be 90+.

running p95 now

Right. From what I remember with my FX-6100 the stock cooler's probably almost maxed out.

Ooh! Go into the BIOS and make sure that Cool 'n' Quiet is enabled. Otherwise it will run at full power constantly.

Sig under construction.

Have you touched the voltage at all? and or messed with the CPU speed? if so, you probably increased the voltage too much,

nope.

Load temps seem to be maxing at 71 degrees

Unexpected. As far as I know FX should run around 70 degrees. Someone who knows better fix me on this.

Do you have a thin layer applied?

What type of cooler is included with the FX-6300?

Is it just a pure aluminum block, or is it aluminum with copper heatpipes?

This is the stock cooler that came with my FX-8350.

If the cooler you have installed is the aluminum-only type, then that is most probable reason for the higher temperature. In this case, you will need a better CPU cooler to drastically improve CPU temperatures.

My socket FM1 APU (TDP of 100W) came with an aluminum only CPU cooler, and just like youir FX-6300, it ran quite warm. To be frank, AMD should not be using this type of cooler on 95W+ chips. It makes sense if you include it for say... a 65W chip. That is what they did back in the day.

  • Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (89W, Windsor) >> Alumium + copper heatpipes CPU cooler

Those temps are way too high. Something is wrong with either the installation of your heat sink or fan. Fx series should not exceed 62c (approximate thermal safe limit).

Edit: also check your thermal compound
