Actually in slow motion it's better to have lower FPS that's why slomo guys still use 30FPS.

They film at thousands of frames a second, then slow down the playback speeds..thats what hes refering too.

I remember when I first saw Hobbit at cinema. 

 

Me, used to 24/25 TV Framerate... It was really strange at 48 frames/s and characters were moving really fast

 

I got used to it (sometimes it's still a bit strange) but it's definitely more vivid and it's really awesome that it's so visible on youtube, you can immediately tell if it's 60 or old 30.

 

 

Let's hope that they will do the same with games.

Playing back slow-mo footage at 60 fps wouldn't really help. It would be useless.

We need to move everything that has to do with video content to exactly 60fps. Movies, tv shows, everything.

 

And target 120fps for games.

I think for mobile devices it's a welcome addition since the apps can be more finely coded and efficient.

60FPS playback on desktop and laptop is fairly demanding, even with my Google Fibre levels of speed, 4K/60 has massive stuttering and immense loads. Google really needs to work on optimizing desktop playback under HTML5, right now it's all over the place.

While technically they will get even slower motion at 30 then 60, the speeds they are filming at the difference between 30fps and 60fps playback would be pretty much negligible.

Video and film to me looks a lot better at 24/30fps than 60 fps. 60fps just looks to "video-like" and cheesy. There's a reason that filmmakers swear by 24fps Obviously, gaming should be at 60fps or higher.

Yes. 60FPS is so much more enjoyable and allows for the full experience in things like VR 360 videos

Actually I've had the ability to view the videos in 60 fps for more than a week on android. Maybe YouTube slips in a few users as testers? It definitely makes a difference in gameplay videos but apart from that I don't really know what use it has.

That was the other option, lol I have no experience with high speed filming, this was just be thinking about how it all works one day never actually got into the details of it, just figured out how it generally worked.

I resumed watching a saved twitch stream on my phone this morning and thought it looked better, checked the settings, and 1080p60 was selected The app didn't even have to update itself either.

Guys, they film at thousands of frames per second. Lets just say they film at 10000 fps and they slow it down by half so it's 5000 fps. If they uploaded that footage at 60 fps we would be able to see more of those 5000 frames and the picture would be smoother.
