The old version of the AX are made by Seasonic. That is a good PSU for whatever you need.

AX860i is nothing special. Corsair Link is a buggy mess and is a gimmick. Flextronics internals are decent, but nothing special. You can do better for the price.

Your PSU should allow overclocking regardless. It's probably either your mobo or your GPU.

corsair link works perfectly for me and is very useful for changing settings of different corsair devices

and they switched to flextronics for higher efficiency ratings

thats how they are getting platinum/titanium on every AXi PSU

Great, let me change from single rail to multi rail which you'd never want to do

Flextronics are not as good as Seasonic, expect the AX1500i which is a properly good PSU, along with the 1200i, but expensive at the same time

80 Plat/Tit means nothing in saving money, barely I imagine a few $ per year. Seasonic also make high efficiency PSUs, but Corsair chose to save money and go with an inferior OEM.

the corsair link software lets me see and change my fan rpm and look at the PSU temperature

which is something that pretty much no other PSU can do

I havent see anyone have issues with the AXi PSUs so I'm not sure where you're getting the "inferior" part from

What the fuck is going on

Overvolting a PSU?

so it can allow overclocking for a gpu? the one i have now doesnt allow it so i cant overclock it

Yes of course, you can overclock on any PSU as long as you have enough power for your GPU when it is overclocked.

I think he wants to overvolt the PSU. It's apparently locked meaning his GPU or mobo is locking it I think.

I'm tired today, I meant GPU....

Hmm, well idk about overvolting GPUs, but I do know that many GPUs are voltage locked.

I know that my non-voltage locked GPU cannot be overclocked because B85 board.

Why on earth would a B85 board prevent you from overclocking your GPU...
