Google confirms AI dream of electric sheep - and more

Wiflare

Google's AI labs have made - in my opinion - the coolest looking dreams ever.

From my understanding, the AI was supposed to find things in images, and saw stuff that wasn't there. They then fed it white noise to see what would come out, and it's kind of amazing.

-snip-

The AI did not have dreams. The AI (computer program) had previously been given different images over time and was then given an image of static noise. The AI was then 'asked' to identify, trough optimisation, what it saw in the images. In one example it was given a static noise image and was 'asked' to identify bananas.

As awesome as it would be, there is no 'dream' as this would require a conscious mind.
