Personally the only wireless product I like is my PS3 Dualshock controller. I bought a Sony Wireless Stereo Headset only to find out that it's completely useless for online gaming as it interferes with my router and that leads to me getting signed out of PSN(and yes i tried switching router channels).

But anyway on topic. I personally think wireless is a great idea with lots of potential but as of now it's much better for me to use wired products. Why?

1. Less latency

2. Doesn't run out of juice. No need to charge it. Plug in the wire, play as long as you want

3. Wireless products often cost a lot(for example wireless gaming mice)

4. No interference issues with wired products

I could find more reasons as to why wired is better if I were to dig deeper but those are just some I quickly thought out of my head.

Again as I said, it's an awesome idea and has lots of potential to replace wired products but as it is now it just has too many issues.

I have tried many wireless products and the only one I stuck to using are mice. I can't stand wireless headsets, I used the turtle beach px5 for a while and I would have constant interference, plus it weighed a lot (really uncomfortable for the neck) and changing the battery was a hassle.

Now I use the RAT 9 mouse, there's literally no noticeable input lag and changing the battery takes like 3 sec.

Wireless charging wireless mouse where the mouse pad is the charging mat that you plug in via usb = no more batteries

Latency - Can it really be worse than a 360 or ps3 controller? ps3 uses bluetooth and I don't notice any latency problems

Cost - yea it costs more and my idea of a charging mat wouldn't help but hey no more batteries.

I've never used a wireless mouse for gaming but I really don't think if it was always charged and 1 foot away from the receiver I would notice any input lag. Plus no cord is awesome, it drags around and is just a pain sometimes.

Depends on what's wireless and what kind of system it's using such as IR, BT, etc. Console controllers are awesome wireless, mice...not too much (unless the tech's gone better to make them better than wired ones, but IDC lol). Headphones, I dunno. Never used one.

I can use my router as a pillow and have no static or interference with my corsair vengeance headset and the battery lasts the advertised 10 hours of constant use. congrats to you if you use it beyond that in one setting I guess. I have a usb jack next to me so charging on the go is not a problem.

wireless keyboard wireless mouse wireless headset wireless 360 controller.. its nice to have the option to deploy in front of my tv on a couch

I had the older tech wireless turtle beaches and holy shit those things were absolutely horrible. the new generation of wireless is great and only getting better

Yea I suppose you have a point but if you have good cable managment then there wont be dragging. I say that a wired mouse with the wire managed good so it goes behind your PC and you dont have to worry about it dragging or anything is the best kind of mouse

I like my wireless 360 controller for my PC and my wireless keyboard.

I don't notice any latency issues what so ever.

I would have a wireless mouse as-well If I liked any of them.

i can see where people are going with wireless, and why you would get one, but for me? Nah brah.

I just don't see the point paying a premium for something that i'm never going to use more than a metre away from my computer. the disadvantages (Battery, latency etc.) far outweigh the advantages (no cables).

Exactly. Ok I get that some people might have a setup that makes wireless products be really effective and maybe even necessary but for me its as you said, more disadvantages than advantages.

Used them, didn't enjoy it, went back to wired, and have recently found the perfect solution in the form of my G700. Picked it up cheap (£50, PC World, for my sins) when they were shifting them to make room for the G700s, and it just rocks.

For those who don't know, it's a wireless mouse, but it has a micro USB port at the front, so when it dies you don't have to switch the batteries, just plug it in and it turns into a wired mouse while charging.

Seriously, I don't understand why everyone isn't doing this.

I see where it could be implemented, e.g. HTPC's etc. But for normal use there isn't an awful lot of point in the technology at the moment.

i use wireless keyboard mouse combo logitech mk320 this combo is awesome because both devices run off the same receiver and there seem to be no noticeable lag. as for battery life ... i've had the batteries in these things for ages ... i think the keyboard gets like 2 years or something the mouse battery dies like after 6 months

(1) high frame rate (2) ultra graphics settings (3) cheap...>> choose only two<<...

if it's never been done then i'm probably tryna do it. (((((((Bass so low it HERTZ)))))))

Having a laptop I prefer wireless over wired for the avoidance of cable clutter. I use a MX Performance and a K270 from Logitech and like them. I turn off my mouse from habit when I go away from my desk. I notice no lag or interference and battery life is good on the MX Performance as I only need to charge it every 3 or 4 days. As for my K270 keyboard I leave it on all day everyday and the batteries haven't needed changing in the year I've had it (Batteries were included too!).

It can be convenient for someone who doesn't  mind the small loss in performance. But the term "Wireless Gaming" is a joke to me

Well the overall thing that I don't like about wireless products is batteries. You gotta hate when they run out and boy do they add some weight. Apart from that they are lovable though be it, I don't actually have any wireless things in use.

Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy?

On the go, wireless is great.  I always carry around a little Logitech wireless mouse with my laptop because screw trackpads.

For video game controllers, it makes sense.  It's nice to kick back on the couch and not be forced to sit less than 10 feet in front of the TV.

For desktop use, however, I don't see the point.  You only move your mouse so much; it's not like the cable gets in the way.  And you don't move your keyboard at all; wireless keyboards are totally pointless.  If your tower's far away, just get a USB extension cable for 2 bucks.

And batteries.  At least the cheap Logitech mouse lasts like a year on one AA battery.  For higher-end peripherals, you're using the thing wired half the time anyway because you have to plug it in to charge.  Having to worry about plugging and unplugging the thing is more trouble than it's worth IMO.

And yes, the price premium is totally not worth it.
