Is a mousepad worth it?

N64CUBE

I'm looking at the QCK mini. Do I even need a mouse pad anymore? I'm getting the steelseries sensei raw, which is a laser mouse.

qck is awesome...i own two now. Sooo much better than the wood desk. I was amazed how responsive the mouse is now

I refuse to read threads whose author does not know how to remove the caps lock!

Mouse pad is a good idea to save the desk surface from micro scratches caused by the mouse's feet (which also will get scratched). A soft pad will be better for the longevity of the feet and control through higher friction, while a hard pad gives smoother and more effortless glide at the cost of wearing down the feet faster.

A mousepad is a must. Depending on what material your mouse is moving across, it can have issues with tracking because of inconsistencies with the desk (grooves, scratches and even the colour of the desk). I'd recommend getting a mousepad without any graphics on it as well, can lead to tracking issues again. The Steelseries QcK (the cloth one) is the best I've used.
