Uh, yeah, it'll run hot with only one intake... I only have one intake in my weekend rig (a 92mm fan), and shit gets toasty.

Yout should always have more fans pulling air out than pushing air in.

No you shouldn't.  That would be negative air pressure which will suck dust in.  ALWAYS have more air going in than going out, but not too high a difference.  3 in 2 out is a good balance.

You want to create a flow of air through your case, not just supply fresh air, with 6 intakes you won't be pulling in as much air as you think anyway as you need allot of pressure to get it out any gaps without an exhaust.

As said above, aim for positive pressure but also aim for a flow.. so front to back or bottom to top.

I don'T PreSS caPs.. I juST Hit THe keYboARd so HarD iT CriTs :P

actually, negative pressure doesnt really hurt if you have dust filters, but if not, positive would be better. i really like negative because heat get pulled out of the case really quickly

Dust filters don't help with creaks and nooks and crannies of the case.  Empty PCIE slot exposed?  Dust will get sucked in.  Side panel have 2 fan slots but only 1 being used?  It's gonna come in througbh there.  Front panel removable?  It's gonna get sucked in.

yes, I see your point, but as long as you have a case where you can close off unused fan slots, it should be fine (my fractal design r5). I know that dust can get through the tiny cracks, but it's not that much. I personally run a negative pressure in my case, but it's 2 intakes and 1 exhaust. The reason it's still negative because the two intakes are have pretty low airflow but are extremely quite. On top of that, the front of the R5 can be quite restrictive to airflow so it doesn't help to put lots fans there. However, the exhaust is an amazing fan and it moves LOTS of air, even at 7v, which makes it very quite as well. When I have the side panel closed and I put my hand on the ventilation holes at the front of the case, I can feel lots of air being sucked in, but when I have the side panel opened, I can almost feel no air being sucked in from that ventilation hole. What I concluded was that the exhaust fan does A LOT of work pulling air through the system and when the side panel is on, there's no other place to suck air except from the ventilation holes. I have no temperature problems at all in my case and it is very quiet. As for dust, maybe I do get a bit more dust compared to having just intakes and a weak exhaust, but I dusted my PC after 2 months and even then, the wasn't a tsunami of dust in there because the front fan filter really does the job.

Sorry for the really long essay :P

Depends on your case. If it has lot of free mesh for air to escape, then you can try it. But something like rear and top fans all intaking is imo bad idea.
