Hey guys,

So the odd time I wake up, and my left ear feels plugged almost. But it quickly goes away. Today I woke up, and didn't have time to shower before work, and my ear felt plugged, and it was hard to hear all day. I got home, and tried cleaning my ears with Qtips, then tried flushing my ear with water, then put mineral oil in my ear, let it sit, then flushed it with water. Then I got fed up, and had a shower, and it's still plugged. What the fuck gives? Any ideas?

If it persists for a few days I'll just go see my doctor. But right now I just don't get it.

I would suggest going to your doctor. It is not recommended that you attempt to clean your ear by shoving things into it.

If this is a regular thing you might want to go see an ENT doctor to figure out what's up, because this sounds like a sinus issue.

I've used Qtips to clean my ears since I was a kid. I clean, but I don't just jam those bastards in. I'm not stupid.

Do you use q tips often?

Maybe you got wax on your eardrum.

No, I don't.

Yeah, I'll give it the weekend and see if it clears, then I'll call the doctor. I just wanted to try to losen up and flush out any wax, but that appears to be no bueno

The doctor should be able to flush your ears in like 3 minutes. It's easy and not a big deal
