The LG is 25 inches and the Acer is 29. I would think the LG would look better because the pixel are packed into a smaller size.

I had the acer for a couple of days. It's the equivalent to the 29um65/29um55. In everyday use(web browsing and gaming) you can't really see a difference in panel quality or response. The big advantage the acer panel has over the lg ones is the mount. It has a great range of adjustability. (Impressive height adjustment)

The resolution is perfect at 29in ultra wide. But at $300 it's still isn't a hot buy. Decent at best

I returned it and purchased a 29um67 (freesync 75hz) for same price.

That one is only 25".

The one in the deal is 29"

id you not notice the size difference? 25 inches is too small, that's a joke

For 1080 pixel height? It really isn't. I would grab a 1440p monitor over this any day anyway. I got my Dell 4k monitor for only $300 as well. This is not a deal.

Your dell 4k monitor wasn't ultrawide though. This is a good deal for an ultrawide.

Also when i say it's too small, i don't mean for the resolution i mean in general. It's too freaking tiny

I disagree.

Even though 1440p is more pixels for the same price, its different.

Ultrawide is something completely different/

25" vs 29" ultrawide is less than 1.5" difference in panel height. It's not that big of a deal. If you want to pay $100 more for 1.5" then go ahead but you're not going to convince me this is a deal.

If you're going ultrawide you need 1440 pixel height at least for a good experience.

You can get 2 ips 1080p monitors for less than this and have more screen real-estate. Why would you get a 1080p ultrawide for $300? You haven't mentioned a single thing going for this monitor.

It's meant for media consupmtion.

Also a 25 inch ultrawide has roughly the same height as a 21.5 inch widescreen monitor.

29 inch ultrawide is roughly the same as a 24 inch widescreen.

25/21.5 inches is too little

The only "media" that is in 21:9 are ultrawide movies. Most media is not in 21:9 so that really doesn't make any sense. Most people go ultrawide for productivity but 1080 is not enough vertical real-estate.

FTFY

1080 vertical pixels is more than enough for me.

Also all movies pretty much are 21:9. There are a lot of people who watch a lot of movies. This is good for them. Quit trying to apply a niche product to the masses

Lmao that's not all all what I'm going to do. I'm trying to justify it for ANYONE AT ALL and I can't see it happening. Someone is going to have to watch a whole lot of movies to want to spend $300 on this monitor. They won't notice much of a difference from the $200 LG one if that's all they do.

My 29in lg lines up perfectly with my 23" monitors. 1080p is perfect for 23-34in. If you go with the 34" ultrawide it's the same height as a 27in monitor. At that size you want 1440p

For my work I prefer a larger screen over two separate ones. Make going from medical records and our billing system eaiser and saves time with two programs open. Less arm swing from left to right.
