Headphone and mic but only one output

So, I have a headphone with a built in mic on the cable, just like the ones used with smarphones. And like those, it has only one output jack. Is there a way to use the mic with the computer?

You need something like this to split the 3 section connectors for use on your PC.

Yep exactly this. You can usually find these at radioshack or sometimes walmart.
