Goddamnit nvidia, again? (Driver issues, 353.06 )

Made this thread after I updated to 352.86 and got crashes. Wanted to see if I was the only one. (was not, so the problem didn't appear to be on my end)

Now when the 353.06 update came out, I installed it. Sure enough, crashes, forcing me to roll back again.

Surely they didn't put out 2 bad versions in a row?

And this is why I wait... 352.86 would make my monitor plugged into dvi turn yellow or red tinted with tons of static in gpu heavy stuff or flash vids, then loop driver crashes making my computer unusable. gg nvidia.

I mean 1 driver happens but not fixing it is unacceptable. Didn't even list it in fixes, appears to be same drive with added support for another game. As far as I saw, complaints about the last driver were pretty common.

:/ man nvidia just needs to get their driver team to fix shit first and then add support for games lol

ahaha, try their linux drivers sometime. The goddamn open-source community hacked drivers don't suffer from screen-tearing whist nvidia's do.

Imagine you are on an old sailboat

Carrack%201.jpg

This is the NVIDIA-Linux sail boat. It sucks. It's hard to get working for the 900 series. It's slow going, you are running out of supplies, and you have scurvy. You think it sucks.

Then you see the AMD-Linux boat

pirates-of-the-caribbean-burning-ship.jp

And you think, "wow. Scurvy isn't so bad!"

This is my experience at least.

I don't have issues with any particular driver, it's CHANGING drivers that f*cks with my system.
I posted in a different thread a month or so back about updating drivers & my screen doing a permanent slow flash afterwards. This latest driver did that again. Since last night, (only change was driver update) my system has been unstable as hell. Games are stuttering. Boot up is taking anywhere from 10seconds to 2minutes.

I'm about to the point where any GPU driver update simply means a whole fresh install of Windows.

I never had anywhere near this much software trouble with AMD hardware. If only they had something comparable...

I just downloaded it. No issues so far. Wish me luck.

That's the thing, I never had it crash in game, that's why I didn't notice it right away. I rolled back because i was worried about it in games....maybe I should bite the bullet and update..

It doesn't bother me very much because it doesn't crash frequently, and at least it doesn't crash IN games. The very first time it happened I thought my graphics card went on the fritz though.

I pisses me off cause it always seems to happen when I'm typing.

I got the 353.06 update and now in GeForce Experience I don't have that button to customize LEDs on my SLI bridge... :( I know it is a stupid thing, but I want to shut it off

Not sure about the SLI bridge, but the LED on my GPU itself wasn't working for me. Downloaded the standalone installer for GeForce Experience & now all of it seems to be working.

There should be a button in the "My rig" section, but isn't... I want the SLI bridge LEDs off, because... well, my SLI bridge looks like this -> wsjvKam.jpg

Reminds me of when I had a Fermi card. Every new driver installation was preceded by me begging it to work.
