Introduction

So how did this start. Well, @Imabigmac posted "Does EVGA think it is 2013?". I was so amazed with the deals that I picked up a X79 SLI. (Wanted a 590, but it was sold out.) So I bought it. So here is the build.

Convert them to JPEG and lower the resolution just a smudge.

Do you need a 7950 waterblock? IDK if the one I have fits on your card tho.  It says "EK-FC 7950" on the box.

Yes you really should X79 is meant to run Quad Channel which would be all 4 slots. Dual would be the lowest I would go which is 1 slot on each side.

I wouldn't touch the Big Bang Xpower II.

I have one. It's just died and about to be RMA and I bought an Asus RIVE and tbh it slaughters the MSI. I managed an easy 4.7ghz on the RIVE in three easy steps. Getting the same clocks on the MSI was really hard due to the completely and totally over fussy over complicated bios.

Get a RIVE.

Area 51 2014. Intel 5820k@ 4.4ghz. MSI X99.16gb Quad channel ram. AMD Fury X.Asus RAIDR.OCZ ARC 480gb SSD. Velociraptor 600gb. 2tb WD.

So how did this start. Well, @Imabigmac posted "Does EVGA think it is 2013?". I was so amazed with the deals that I picked up a X79 SLI. (Wanted a 590, but it was sold out.) So I bought it. So here is the build.

 

 

CPU: 6 Core 2011 CPU.
