Better ways for my internet.

So it's impossible for me to pull a cable from my router to my PC so that's not an option.

 

ATM I run a power cable trhough a series of sockets and at the end a switch to get internet to my PC/PS4.

I'm promised 160 down and I get about 30 down with this pos of a powercable.

 

So my Q is, what is a good way to get internet from my router to my PC/PS4 without losing too much speed?

simplest is to go through the heating ducts or the attic

What's the transfer speed of your Powerline adapter?

Powerline converts ethernet into power then converts it back to ethernet at the end

so youre actually plugging ethernet into your network switch, not power

(well it needs power too, but it doesnt get internet from that)

A sweex powerline. 30 down on pc, about 20 on ps4. Internet is 160

And I lose a lot of speed in the process. Network switch doesn't lose any speed, i tested it by connecting pc straight to the end of the powerline

wifi hasn't ever given me trouble whilst gaming. Wireless AC is pretty sweet, as long as you are close to the access point or don't have many walls between you and it.

I just wired a clients house that was defiantly a bit of trouble..but its never impossible

just a matter of if you are aloud to drill a couple holes...you can fit the holes in later with wood putty or drywall mud

Wifi on my phone is at 50% where my pc is. Pc also doesn't have a wifi dongle I think.

would your parents give you trouble if you ran an ethernet cable along the baseboards and secured it nicely? I did the same thing as this picture, but along the outside of my house, and with cat6, but the same principle applies.

Seems like it's the only viable way.. I'd have to go through a wall then though
