Vessel video quality

I'm on a gigabit connection and vessel limits me to low or sometimes med in all videos. This is unacceptable, 360p youtube looks better. 

The audio is like trashy "halfway plugged in headphones" sound.

Please tell me I'm not the only one having this issue. 

muh specs 

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it. 

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff. 

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

I'm on a 60 megabit connection and I always get high.

Im on 50 down and high is always an option

The only annoying part is having to click it each time I go to a video because auto is default

I wait for the videos to appear on Youtube rather than watching them on Vessel just because of the quality of their videos. After coming from 4K on Youtube, whatever resolution they're using looks atrocious and I can't stand it.

 

The videos play fine for me though and I have a 30/5 connection so that seems weird. It's probably a location-based issue I'm guessing.

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

I get put on auto when I launch a video which I change to high. I think the high option not being there maybe means the video hasn't yet been processed?

30mb/s never had a problem with high. although I do get disconnected from their servers a lot. and I have reported that to them. you should tell their CS its really fast

I always go for HIGH in vessel and can continuously watch it without buffering,  but I always tend to leave it to buffer and do something else. When I leave it to buffer vessel will almost just stop buffering completely at times which is frustrating.

 

That is why I'll most likely just wait for it on YouTube.

It's not my personal connection, I got like 25/5 Mb comcast at home.

Hmm odd I can set it to everything but high also; yesterday it was fine i could set it to high :/

im on 60 mbps and vessel always lags like shit. 

Space Journal #1: So Apparently i  was dropped on the moon like i'm a mars rover, in a matter of hours i have found the transformers on the dark side of the moon. Turns out its not that dark since dem robots are filled with lights, i waved hi to the Russians on the space station, turns out all those stories about space finding humans instead of the other way around is true(soviet Russia joke). They threw me some Heineken beer and I've been sitting staring at the people of this forum and earth since.
