PSU

HD_M4N1CZ

What PSU would I need for the "R9 280 DUAL-X 1GB GDDR5 WITH BOOST"? I have that, also 2 hard-drives, a dvd drive that also need powering. (And Motherboard and CPU) My price range is pretty low, around £50'ish.

I already had a 500W PSU, the PSU's fuse blew when I loaded a game and tried to walk forward.

Not all 500w's are created equal. I'm guessing you had a crappy psu.

Absolutely true. Just cause it is 500 watts, doesn't mean it is crap. If it doesn't have certification (80+, 80+ bronze, 80+ silver, and so on) though, steer clear.

Would this be good enough?

Any 500W PSU from well known brands such as Corsair, EVGA, BeQuiet, XFX or Seasonic should be fine, and an 80+ certification would be good as well.

I would go with the one @WoodenMarker suggested as CIT is not exactly great for PSU's

Also, you need to pay attention to the Amps on the 12v+ RAIL. 3.3v and 5v rails are for accessories in the system. 12v powers your CPU, GPU, and PCIe power.

For example: I have a 450w power supply with 18Amps on the 12+ rail, and 38Amps on the 5v rail, and a 430w power supple from corsair has 32Amps on the 12v rail, so it can handle a core i5 and a GTX 960 that would fry the cheap 450w.

Here's a good option.

Fine you want the PSU tier list? Have the PSU tier list: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1116640-psu-tier-list-40-rev-103/

A good quality 500W or higher. The Antec TruePower Classic linked above is the best choice for the price in the UK, if you don't mind it being not modular.

I wouldn't recommend getting that.

That's more expensive and worse than the 500B1.

It's a great psu but that's pretty normal pricing.

Wouldn't say explicitly worse. The CX has better voltage regulation, the B1 has better ripple suppression and HUT

Because of that, I do consider the 500B1 a bit better. The difference isn't huge so I usually just recommend whichever is cheaper.
